Char Dham Registration Overview
As per the Government of Uttarakhand travel policy, pilgrims and their vehicles must be registered before starting the journey to Char Dham or Hemkund Sahib. Pilgrims must also complete verification when they reach each selected shrine.
Registration supports Yatra monitoring, pilgrim safety, destination-wise planning and emergency assistance. After successful registration, the system generates a Yatra Registration Letter containing a unique QR code.
Pilgrim Registration
Every traveller should be added to the selected tour with correct personal, contact, identity and travel details.
Vehicle Information
Add the applicable travel mode, driver and vehicle details. Separate transport requirements may apply to commercial vehicles.
Verification at Dham
Carry the QR registration letter or official SMS and the original identity proof for verification at the destination.
Government Registration Is Free
The official portal describes pilgrim registration and verification as a free exercise. A travel agent may charge separately for a private assistance service, but that is not a government registration fee.
Keep These Ready Before Registration
Prepare all details before opening the form. This reduces errors and helps you complete registration without repeated edits.
- Active mobile number that will be carried during the Yatra
- Valid email address, especially for foreign pilgrims
- Correct arrival and departure dates for Uttarakhand
- Selected Dham names and planned visit dates
- Clear recent passport-size photograph for every pilgrim
- Clear copy of an accepted identity document
- Full address, city, district, state and country
- Emergency contact who is not travelling with the pilgrim
- Known medical conditions, if any
- Mode of travel, driver name and vehicle number where applicable
Enter the Name Carefully
The official user manual says a pilgrim name cannot be changed after submission. Match the name and spelling with the identity document that will be carried during the journey.

- Never share account password, OTP or captcha with an unknown caller.
- Do not upload Aadhaar, passport or other ID to an unverified form or chat number.
- Check the full URL before signing in; copied websites may use similar names.
- Keep QR letters private and share them only where necessary for authorised verification.
