Kalpeshwar, also known as Kalpnath, is the fifth Panch Kedar shrine and is traditionally associated with the matted locks of Lord Shiva.
The compact cave-like shrine lies in the peaceful Urgam Valley of Chamoli. Its intimate setting is very different from the larger high-altitude temples of the circuit.
Visitors approach through Helang and continue towards Urgam using the current motorable road, followed by a short local walking route. Road and trail conditions should still be confirmed before travel.
Important: Kalpeshwar is generally accessible throughout the year, but monsoon damage, winter frost and local road conditions can still affect the Helang–Urgam route. Confirm access before departure.
